Since 2013 Kraków has been encouraging Cracovians and all city visitors to drink “kranowianka” as the local tap water is being called.
We have created an individual educational project for Waterworks Kraków which aimed at the most crucial for life and common chemical compounds in nature – water!
„Na tropie krakowianki” (on the trail of kranowianka) – is the education path designed for kids from 4th to 6th grade from the local primary schools. The original program is dedicated to the topics of water treatment and is in a form of educational trip with elements of an outdoor game. It is located in Rudawa Water Treatment Plant. The form of the path encourages participants to act, stimulates their curiosity and shows the actual influence of their behaviors on the natural environment. It’s an interesting, valuable and shaping experience.

As a part of the project we’ve designed and created an education board which illustrates the following steps which „kranowianka” water needs to undergo before it reaches taps in homes in Kraków and why it’s so beneficial to drink it. We’ve prepared an original Eco-Memory game which is a combination of great fun and a set of valuable information about environmental protection, plastic reduction and the value of water. The path is also equipped with the device which explains the process of creating whirlpools
